Live Review: Pur ‘Northside’

3 February 2015 | 3:56 pm | Caitlin Medcalf

French up and comer Pur has just put out his debut EP. Titled 'Northside', the title track from the EP is an epic taste of what the artist has to offer.

But hey let’s talk about house music. Let’s talk about the fact that of all genres, house music seems to be absolutely teeming with life and overflowing with a bountiful plethora of sounds and wild sensations.

It’s a lovely old mistress house music. It’s been around for a couple of years now, and it’s only uphill from here.

PUR is an up and coming producer out of France. Benjamin Legge is his name and sweet, sweet house music is his game. He’s just put out his debut EP titled ‘Northside’ through Lotss Records, and dropped the title track as the first single.

‘Northside’ is this slice of house heaven that is quite distinctly so very French. It’s clean and bouncy but at the same time, there’s an apt of professionalism and an extremely keen eye for the bigger picture.

It comes across as authentic house music, and brings us right down to the underground house scene emanating from Europe at the moment. It’s a snapshot of reality, and it’s refreshing to hear all of these different house styles emerging.

PUR has solidified his place as an up and comer to look out for, and we’re more than keen to hear more.
