Live Review: Franskild ‘Falling’

10 March 2015 | 4:45 pm | Caitlin Medcalf

Swedish duo Franskild have just dropped their gorgeous, technicolour new single 'Falling' through Lotss Music.

As a global commodity, the internet has really boosted and made readily accessible pretty much anything you could ever imagine.

One of the greatest feats however, is how we can manage to access music and sounds from artists all across the globe. Like FRANSKILD for example.

A duo out of Sweden, the pair has since their inception, released music through LOTSS Music and Sweat It Out! Music. They’ve had a killer run with some killer support, but they’re back with a new single that really sounds like no other.

The mysticism behind ‘Falling’ is quite intuitive, and feels so much at home. It’s quirky, accented and quite dark in the delivery of the sounds, but it’s the vocals that truly bring it home.

It’s a gorgeous concoction of dreamy house-scapes with this added sharpness through the vocals, and for a while you kind of struggle to figure out where it fits categorically.

However, once the keys come in, you know straight away that this is an incredibly gorgeous house track disguised as an enigma.

It’s unconventional and spirited, but it’s comforting and feels like home. FRANSKILD are on the trail to a great ascent, and ‘Falling’ only further accentuates the individuality and sonic progression that these two bring.
