Live Review: Moods 'Lost Translation'

19 March 2015 | 3:19 pm | Emma Jones

Dutch producer Moods released his latest track 'Lost Translation' ahead of his new album expected out later this year!

Dutch producer MOODS is currently gearing up for the release of his debut LP, after the success of his debut EP, Sincere. In the meantime, however, he has first decided to release a new track to test the waters.

Lost Translation, with it's on trend blending of hip hop beats and analogue electronica, is warm and familiar, and is setting the bar high for what 2015 still holds for him!

Sweeping synths and fresh, crisp hip hop beats are laid down in Lost Translation, with MOODS carefully layering the track with more and more as it goes along. The more he adds, the deeper the track gets yet still maintains a chilled and laid back vibe. Following on from his mellow natured tracks on SincereMOODS does chill-wave very well indeed.

Vocal samples and glitchy synths fill in the track, with even a bit of saxophone getting involved. MOODS shows a restrained approach as he controls the many elements that are going on, then suddenly takes it all away leaving just the synth licks and a faint saxophone one last time.
