Live Review: Losco ‘Pupunanny’

7 April 2015 | 9:00 am | Caitlin Medcalf

The Belgium-based legends behind LOSCO are back with their killer new percussive-invasive single 'Pupunanny'.

The Belgium-based legends behind LOSCO have been terribly hard at work with their latest offering. It’s titled ‘Pupunanny’ and is a fantastic chunk of experimental goodness.

They’ve made a small piece of sound into something that drives its way forward and really hits hard. It’s more dubstep than anything, but I think you could attribute it to anything within the scopes of deep house, a touch of drum and bass and even a little bit of chillwave in its repetitiveness.

‘Pupunanny’ knows when to tone it down, knows when to ramp it up, and does well in creating a minimal soundscape against a complex percussive canvas. The picture painted from there on is careful, wistful and keen in its prowess, yet very subdued in its almost mountainous delivery.

Losco have done something cool here, and it’s the fusion of sounds and skills between them that really makes up this jam-packed track.
