Live Review: Dutch Party 'Howl'

22 May 2015 | 12:08 pm | Emma Jones

Taken from the forthcoming Kitsune compilation 'Kitsune America 4', Dutch Party drop new track 'Howl' that will be included on any good summer playlist.

Parisian label Kitsune are always ones to do things their own way, and with the release of their latest compilation Kitsune America 4, they only further this reputation.

Taking a "fresh and ambitious look at familiar Americana"Kitsune have once again outdone themselves by digging a littler deeper than your average compilation to deliver the best new sounds to match their current project. Alongside Toro Y Moi and Twin Peaks, this is where DUTCH PARTY come in - with their track 'Howl'.

Natural, relaxing, warm indie pop is the order of Dutch Party, with 'Howl' geared for any good summer playlist. The driving guitar, the rolling drums and the familiar, soft voice of the lead vocals all combine to make an easy going, image-provoking and soothing tune which really does embody all that is the American summer dream.

Subtle vocal harmonies that really do sound like howling, powerful lyrics, and guitar melodies that will have you tapping and swaying along in no time leave no question as to why Dutch Party were included in this compilation, thrusting them into an audience unsuspecting of their naturally feel-good sounds; an audience that will probably find themselves enjoying such sounds without even realising.

Kitsune America 4 drops digitally this week, with physicals coming next month. As for Dutch Party, you can hear more of them on their EP released last month titled Astral Nights, right here.
