Live Review: HOMETOWN GUIDE: Cut Snake on Los Angeles + 'Maybe Why Not'

24 June 2015 | 1:25 pm | Caitlin Medcalf

Cut Snake recently relocated to LA from Brissy, so we thought we'd hit them up for a Hometown Guide. Plus you can stream their new single.

Paul Fisher and Leigh Sedley (AKA Fish and Sed) are two incredible gents who have made quite the name for themselves across the globe. CUT SNAKE is their production project, and they're responsible for a hefty amount of tech house, deep house and house cuts that you've heard on the dancefloor, particularly as of late.

They've got a new single coming out today with WONGO, titled 'Maybe Why Not', which you can stream below:

Originally from Brisbane, the boys are no strangers to the shore. They've recently relocated to LA however, so we thought we'd hit them up for a Hometown Guide of their new home in the USA.

Svelte Men Barbershop

Svelte barbershop is epic. Every month I go down and see my boy for a cut and beer and to also look at his awesome penthouse collection. It’s the ultimate mans cave and after ya cut ya come out smooth and fresh with a couple beers under ya belt. Can’t complain with that service.

Big Wangs

If ya love sport and chicken wings BIG WANGS IS YA SPOT. Oh yeah and they also serve beer icy cold. I just love the name BIG WANGS, every time I have my Ozzie lads in town they love going down there for a beer and a laugh.

Roosevelt Pool

Roosevelt Pool is all time for a swim when ya just can’t get to the beach. It’s just around the corner from our studio. Every time ya go down there ya bound to see some sort of action.

Malibu

The beaches in Malibu are a breath of fresh air away from the hustle of Hollywood. The waves in the summer can get really fun and it’s a sick little cruisey town to kick around and have a feed etc. There are also a few cool hidden coves with fun waves if you know where to go. The weekend crowds can get pretty hectic though.

Hollywood Forever Cemetery

Each week over summer they put on a different movie in the Hollywood Cemetery. It's a fun place to go with a crew of mates and a heap of piss and food. The joint holds about 2500 people so ya gotta get there early to snag a good spot next to the porta-loo's, otherwise you will keep missing the movie when you're 8 beers deep.
