The video, just like the sound of the song, is filled with nostalgia. It starts with vision of an 80’s-esque car machinery line. Shiny and pretty cars come off the line and hopefully off to their new owners who will no doubt be calling it ‘She’ or ‘baby’ and replacing their significant other with this vehicle for the next 20 years.

The lyrics of 'My Car' and the video alike reminisce on an ill-fated romance of sorts. Which I suppose for many of us is exactly the story that has gone on with our first car. Tear Council take you on a roller coaster of emotions with this clip.

The video features footage from classic car films such as ‘Vanishing Point’, ‘Repo Man’ and ‘The Drive’. The whole thing has a grainy texture about it to add to the retro vibe. Even if you aren’t a lover of the car genre, keep in mind this isn’t The Fast and The Furious 27, Tear Council are serious music makers. ‘My Car’, and its subsequent video clip, may have a retro feel and sound, however there is plenty of modern and unique electronic elements to take in. The video has speed and drama going on so get yourself all around the ‘My Car’ clip and take yourself on a 3 minutes and 46 second adventure.
