Live Review: Jordan F ‘Mesmerised’ Ft. Dana Jean Phoenix

Australian JORDAN F is gearing up for the release of his second album by dropping the aptly named track ‘Mesmerised’. Featuring vocals from Canadian singer/songwriter DANA JEAN PHOENIX, ‘Mesmerised’ follows Jordan F’s 80’s influenced musical style to a tee.

With summer just around the corner in the Southern Hemisphere, we are being teased with a lot of summer vibing tracks of late. ‘Mesmerised’ is no exception; it has a place on all summer festival road trip playlists, probably for the drive home as it induces a mesmerising state of nostalgia.

Dana Jean Phoenix has a voice that is the epitome of angelic. It blends seamlessly with the 80’s inspired, retro synth sounds created by Jordan F. This is his area of speciality, belonging to the Rosso Corsa Collective, a group of artists who specialise in creating music in dedication to the 80’s.

‘Mesmerised’ has a funky beat that drives the track forwards, but it still remains chilled. Dana Jean Phoenix could not have been a better choice for the vocals with her spellbinding voice leading the hypnotic vibes of the warm track. Jordan F sums it all up: “‘Mesmerised’ is a four and a half minute film score that until now has only existed inside my own head. It’s the best drive in an open topped Ferrari you’ve ever had”. Now if only you could score an open topped Ferrari for your festival adventures….

Jordan F’s second album Timelines is due for release in January 2016 through NewRetroWave Records. ‘Mesmerised’ is out now on iTunes.
