Live Review: Moushumi 'Red Like Mine' EP

26 September 2015 | 8:43 am | Emma Jones

Brooklyn based artist Moushumi shows the world she is absolutely one to watch with the release of her debut EP, 'Red Like Mine'.

Brooklyn based MOUSHUMI has made a name for herself thanks to her strong and powerful music, and her ability to draw on a multitude of influences to create her own unique sound. So, with that in mind, the release of her debut EP Red Like Mine had us very excited indeed.

From the first few seconds of superb opener 'Alone', Moushumi has us hooked with excellent vocal harmonies and crisp beats. Her adept lyricism is on full display in each track, from the clearly DAUGHTER influenced 'Flies', or the LONDON GRAMMAR-esque 'Stay'. Even in the subtle interlude and the stunning 'More', Moushumi shines bright in each and every aspect of this release.

Showing that she is an artist worth keeping both eyes firmly on, we're predicting Moushumi to follow along the lines of Tei Shi in the way she took the world by absolute storm. With an EP such as this, that seems more than a possibility for the Brooklyn artist, and we can't wait for when it does.
