UK newcomer, COURAGE, presents his debut release ‘Icarus’ with Black Butter label.

This is a big, coarse track that will no doubt be spun a fair bit at parties and nights out over the coming months. UK newcomer, COURAGE, presents his debut release ‘Icarus’ with Black Butter label.

Its gnarly UK G bassline opens proceedings, subdues a little with the introduction of some soft pads and brass and then amps up again in the mid-section, referencing classic garage and grime beats and structures.

Describing his motivations as offering an antidote to the plethora of one-off chart house singles, ‘Icarus’ comes as the first part of Courage’s release, which will be followed shortly by the second instalment, ‘Sultan’.

Black Butter is known for its high profile curation of dance and electronica, namely releasing music with Bodhi, Tink and Wiley amongst others. Elements of all three of these artists can be heard in the Courage track – the relentless and catchy beat work hooks, the bouncy grime-inspired rhythms and contemporary attitude all work to ensure that this is an exciting new signing for the label.
