Live Review: Point Point 'All This'

6 January 2016 | 8:48 am | Emma Jones

Point Point may have said goodbye to a key band member last year, but they also released one of their most impressive singles yet not long after.

French group POINT POINT may have ended the year by saying goodbye to one of their key band members (LH4L), but their sound has done anything but suffer since his departure with a brand new track titled 'All This' triumphantly heralding in this new era.

Taking influence from the likes of Odesza or even Porter RobinsonPoint Point are wasting absolutely no time showing what they're capable of with their remaining numbers, as 'All This' smashes through any doubts that may have surfaced with LH4L's departure.

Huge drums, explosive breaks, fragmented vocal lines and hard hitting synth lines all collide to create 'All This' in all its mammoth glory. Its a massive song, and one that shows the group aren't playing around. By letting their song do the talking for them, Point Point have reiterated the fact that they are indeed the imaginative, daring group they're now known for being, and they're only getting warmed up.

2015 saw the release of their EP Contrastive Focus Reduplication, and whilst there is no official word of any future releases, we can safely assume new music is on the way and hopefully hot on the heels of 'All This'. Who knows, maybe this is the break Point Point were waiting for all along?
