Live Review: Creep into wicked darkness with Oyinda's 'Never Enough'

7 March 2016 | 4:19 pm | Hannah Galvin

Entangle in Oyinda's 'Never Enough'; the wicked web that scratches at a sense of Femme Fatale.

Oyinda

Nigerian singer / producer, OYINDA has just released her brand new single, 'Never Enough'. Extremely dark and smokey, the track has been produced by Wahono and the lady herself, with mixing by Henry Laufer (aka Shlohmo).

An atmosphere is instantly perceived to unfold into a dark and grim tale; as hinted by the deep purr that zips into the chambers. Skipping a count every so often, it's soon interrupted by a crash of tangled white noise, before the sultry vocals of Oyinda steal the limelight.

Pinning us down with her delivery, we're beckoned to pay close attention, and are completely committed to the tune as the choir of chants cushion the fall of the chorus' main, repetitive lyric, "You can never get enough of a good thing".

Placing emphasis on her lyrically-depicted insatiable desire with stinging beats and metallic configurations, Oyinda's, 'Never Enough' is intensely captivating, and hints at a firm sense of Femme Fatale; particularly from the fiery soundscape.

Oyinda's 'Never Enough' was released by Blood & Honey, and can be purchased via iTunes.
