Live Review: RKDA release new single 'Quartz' and it's a gem

10 March 2016 | 7:18 pm | Cailey Moroney

Six months after the success of their single 'Spaces', RKDA are back again with their new single 'Quartz.'

'Quartz' is definitely a modern track, throbbing electronic beats and synths that collide and mix with vocals until the two seem to become one aside; the track simply could not have been possible without one of our favorite things. The Internet.

Now I don't know about you, but I sometimes find the nostalgia for the 'good ole' days' before technology 'ruined' everything just a little much and the making of 'Quartz' is a good argument for the benefits of the world wide web.

While making 'Quartz' the three members Laura, Ana and Guy were spread out across the world, all far from their hometown of Melbourne with members in America/Canada, Europe and Japan. 'Quartz' was worked on via email and it wasn't the only thing they were working on. Along with the release of 'Quartz' comes the announcement of the trio's debut EP, CS due for release at the end of April via Riot Expert Records, to whom they were signed after the success of 'Spaces'.

'Quartz' is our first taste of CS and its got the same underlying darkness in the eerie, echo of the vocals and pulse of the electronica that made 'Spaces' so popular and as a herald of things to come, it's certainly a good sign.

CS is due out at the end of April via Riot Expert Records.
