Kiwi masterminds GROENI have dropped their latest EP Hinde, but it isn’t just a string of tracks pulled together, this release is a little like an ogre, it has many layers of greatness.

Hinde is the four track EP, however there is also some stunning visual components accompanying the tracks well worth feasting your eyes upon.

Groeni entered the musical realm as the solo project of Alexander Green, but has transitioned into a full-scale collaborative community, with friends Mike Isaacs and James Paul being added into the fold. The result, superficially, is what you hear on Hinde, but obviously it goes to a much deeper level than just the sounds you can hear.

Green explains it himself with some words about the soul behind the musical direction they are now taking “With previous Groeni music it has always been 'this thing makes me sad or angry', but this time it's from more of an outside perspective on feelings”.

Hinde features four tracks, each with it’s own emotive level of sound that transports you into a different headspace. ‘Herde’, and the accompanying visuals, is certainly something that allows you to appreciate how small we are in this globe. The sounds make you think and feel, the visuals show you how expansive this globe is. It’s very much like a message to appreciate beauty everywhere, but not to sweat the small stuff. It definitely has a beat to get into at the same time though; it’s certainly something for the wee hours of musical wonder.

Recorded in home studios this is one EP that certainly allows the senses to take over.
