Live Review: Moon Holiday returns with brilliant new single "Out Of Bounds"

8 September 2016 | 2:22 pm | Natalie Turner

Having been a long time coming, the wait has been absolutely worth it for Moon Holiday's latest single, "Out of Bounds."

Alex Ward, the brains behind the rule breaking, sensual sounds of MOON HOLIDAY first made her debut with a self titled EP in 2011 which became the fuel to her fire as she now begins to dominate the chill-electronic genre. After featuring on Flume's "Insane", her beaming talent became easily comprehended, winning FBi Radio’s Northern Lights competition and taking out the 2015 spot for triple j’s artist of the year.

A diverse bundle of creativity, Ward is the songwriter, producer and vocalist for all of her exceptionally produced music and now she’ll have you looking to the stars as you surrender to her new emotive track, "Out Of Bounds".

The song is your own personally delivered invitation to a higher state of being, a track that would even heighten an atheist’s spirituality…

It’s a spatially aware song that invites its listeners to become apart of what can only be described as a floating vessel of impressionable echoes and weaves. Its perfectly incorporated pauses create an intermission of sorts, that highlight her gentle vocals and accentuate the notably bold synths.

Producers George Nicholas (Seekae) and Hamish Dixon (Cliques) have input their production skills onto her new tracks, creating a whole new upgraded rendition of her already chill AF sounds. Lucky for us, she’ll be bringing her chill aesthetic to your closest city this September as she supports Rainbow Chan on their national tour, so grab yo tickets and chill out.
