Live Review: Au Dré release new video for 'Watch What You Say'

Melbourne duo AU DRÉ serve up some power and might with their latest video, an in your face new single 'Watch What You Say'.

Melbourne duo AU DRÉ are racking up some fun in the video for their newest single 'Watch What You Say'. The electronic/pop duo have teamed up with emerging Melbourne director An Architect Photographed My Undies to create a vibrant video to match the highly energetic track.

Au Dré is comprised of vocalist and songwriter Audrey Powne and producer/keyboardist James Bowers, both of whom you may know from Sex On Toast, The Do Yo Thangs, Clever Austin, The Vaudeville Smash and many more.

Of the track, Audrey says "‘Watch What You Say’ is a sentiment I’ve felt often. One night enraged by the rumours I heard surrounding my activities and personality I felt an urge to scream and instead accidentally became a rapper. The track is about people who are fundamentally all talk and no action. Those that hang around all the right crew, they’re always there, they’re always out and they’ve always got something to say about everyone even people they’ve never met."

Based on an idea Powne had whilst watching "Serena Williams destroy an uptight Maria Sharapova," Bowers said, it reminded them of the "ultimate internal struggle" - "one with all the grace, and one with all the power fight it out." The result? A hilarious clip at first sight, but one that speaks volumes about power struggles, and the different perceptions people have to be mindful of. With this paired with the blistering, pulverising track, we have a winnner with Au Dré, and we can't wait to see more!
