What was once a sad song has been given new life thanks to Mr. Carmack's bouncy remix of Ta-Ku's and Wafia's 'Love Somebody'.
Earlier this year, TA-KU and WAFIA joined forces for a gorgeous collaborative EP, titled (m)edian. The whole record was lush and beautiful, with Ta-Ku's signature production dancing gracefully around Wafia's gentle yet powerful vocals, but the gem was definitely 'Love Somebody.'
The song is a real smooth slow-burner, with heavy bass and an enchanting piano-driven melody. Fast-forward to now, and the two have a shared a bouncy remix of the song by MR. CARMACK and you're going to fall in love with this tune all over again.
While the original was perfect for soundtracking your late nights, the remix is festival-ready and is going to be on your summer playlists for sure. The Hawaii-based producer completely flips the script, giving the song some shining trumpets and a real groovy bassline. The song bounces from start to finish, while still maintaining the beautiful vocals of both Ta-ku and Wafia. It was a tricky feat to manage but Mr. Carmack frankly makes it look easy.

Wafia says of the remix, "I was met with this remix at the height of my sadness so I cried and danced very hard to it by myself in a bare Malaysian hotel room. This is what this remix to me. It was written in sadness and Mr Carmack turned into something that brought me happiness. I guess music can do that."
