Artists to Watch in 2017: Aeora

If the name AEORA looks familiar, it’s probably because we’ve featured her here on Purple Sneakers quite a bit. The Melbourne-based producer and singer has released a huge collection of tracks this year that we’ve completely fallen in love with and we reckon 2017 will be no different.

Aeora has a smooth sound that allows you to fall deep into her atmospheric melodies and be soothed by her soft vocals. ‘Medicine’ fell into darker territory with its raw intensity. This was her first release under the name Aeora after changing it from Aura earlier this year. ‘Medicine’ was only our first taste of this girl’s fantastic work and soon, her debut EP Alt. followed.

Alt features some of Aeora’s most popular songs to date. ‘Up to You’ has the airy synths and dream-like vocals that make you feel like you’re floating on a cloud. The lyrics themselves describe a confusing relationship where the ball in finally in someone else’s court and you just get lost in the story as it plays on. ‘Afloat’ has lyrics that outline the importance of self-care, something everyone should take time out for. It’s so relatable it hurts but it draws you in with its impeccable structure and intricate melody.

Every track Aeora has released this year we’ve fallen in love with and even though she has only released a small handful of music clips as well, if she’s game to have hot water poured over her in the name of music, you know she’s determined to make her mark on the music industry.

2017, prepare yourself because Aeora is coming to dominate you!
