Live Review: Joe Goddard returns with 'Lose Your Love'
Joe Goddard, mianly known from his work in the group Hot Chip has come out a video for his solo track 'Lose Your Love' released on Greco-Roman.
Joe Goddard is mainly known from his work in the group Hot Chip but he has come out a video for his solo track 'Lose Your Love' released on Greco-Roman to tell the story of a cult leader and his followers.
Directed by Fred Rowson, the video clearly tells the story of a man who leads a cult like group through sessions of meditation, inspirational videos and other quasi spiritual stuff. The visual style of the video is distinct in the way that it utilises aspects of 80's promotional videos with more modern shots interleaved.
The music itself contains influence from disco with the vocals mixed with traditional house and electronic music. The track can really be split into two halves; the starting half containing most of the vocal samples and soft piano chords over light percussion while the second half has the kick drum and synths that are more reminiscent of a dance track. 'Lose Your Love' is a track that has enough unique qualities to make it stand out against other dance tracks while also being a great track in it's own right.

Overall Joe Goddard has made an interesting splash with this track and video. Both have interesting and unique styles which draw both your eyes and ears to them. We can't wait to hear more.
