Released earlier this year,'While I'm Waiting' was the epic debut single from unknown Sydney artist ANNIE BASS. The track is a vibrant depiction of unrequited love, and despite its melancholy subject matter, the track is such a vibrant one it almost serves as a pick-me-up - one we have had on our minds since it dropped back in early 2016.
Although ‘While I'm Waiting’ was her only official release this year, it's hard to forget. Her piercing vocals are a fresh and vibrant, floating above a blooming, swirling bed of modern production. Long-time collaborator OISIMA stepped up for production duties, whilst the track was mastered by Australia's Rick Rubin, ANDREI EREMIN (Chet Faker, Hiatus Kaiyote, Miami Horror, Japanese Wallpaper, Oscar Key Sun and more).
With more music tipped to be released soon, and an incomparable live show (as seen at our very own KING ST CRAWL event), Annie Bass is the real deal to us. Whether it be her ear for a modernised sound or just her general talent of breathtaking vocal melodies, she is sure to enter 2017 with a bang. We’re expecting big things.
