Live Review: Work it out with FeelsClub's new single 'AEIKNOWU’

31 May 2017 | 7:06 am | Freya Dinesen

Quirk-laden Brisbane crew FEELSCLUB have dropped their funky fresh new single, ‘AEIKNOWU’, with a bonus DIY visual accompaniment also thrown in.

The five-piece group possess a multitude of instrumental talents, and once again holla at us with swaying, chilled out synth-pop tunes, upholding their signature spark.

‘AEIKNOWU’ is now FeelsClub’s third official single release, showcasing a super funky bass riff, punchy percussion and mellow, atmospheric keys and synths that pay homage to the likes of hallmark artists Talking Heads and Future Islands.

This feel good, pop-py tune sends nothing but good vibes, with its catchy vocal lines and lyrics sharing the message, “We can work it out”, which could ultimately be encouraging us to not sweat the small stuff.

Directed by DJLJ, the DIY video features a classic 1980’s style mashup of vocalist St Jonnie walking through the of streets of Brisbane with smaller shapes of footage periodically inserted into the frame, displaying other bands members performing various musical parts.

It’s gritty, it’s lo-fi, and it perfectly captures the aesthetics and vibe of their back-to-original synth-pop, making it an all-round winner in our books.

FeelsClub are set to release their debut album Never Knows Best sometime in the next couple of months.

FeelsClub will also be playing two shows in Brisbane and Newcastle in early June. For more details, see their Facebook  and check out the dates below!

Sat 10 June - Wicking Out! Festival – Newcastle
