Live Review: ALTA's 'Fix It' gets the GODMODE treatment

4 September 2017 | 4:06 pm | Lloyd Crackett

To tide you over until Bigsound 2017, Alta have gotten LA based label GODMODE to give their track 'Fix It' a bass-driven treatment

There is a crackle in the air. Is it the changing of seasons or is it the tense political climate surrounding a postal vote? It could be either but it is more likely the fervour, the pure anticipation emanating out of Brisvegas as Bigsound 2017 is only sleeps away. Caught up in this fever storm of emotions is the one and only ALTA who have outsourced a remix of their stellar track ‘Fix it’ to LA based label GODMODE.

The main base of the song is a simple sample ‘Na na na na na Don’t’, it’s repetitive but it is offset with a growing and grooving bass. GODMODE takes the track from the left-field pop duo and turns it into something club ready. Before it would have played to the sun-soaked afternoons of our oncoming spring, but it has been touched by GODMODE. It’s ready for the deep dark nights where the bodies around you create the climate and the only real light is the door that will take you to the empty streets of the morning.

Not ignoring the rest of the original, GODMODE selects sections of verses show off Hannah Lesser's smooth voice and keen melody. It’s a wonderful remix that sees ALTA’s fine track turned into something for new rooms and new fans. It’s definitely not one to miss.
