Live Review: Godlands' new one 'Wild' is exactly that

24 August 2018 | 9:12 am | Jackson Langford

She's been a name in the industry for a minute now, but 'Wild' sees Godlands take her craft to daring new heights and creepy new depths.

The best thing about the music GODLANDS creates is that it is consistently straight to the point. You know you're in for a party. You know it's going to be filthy. And you know that the bass is gonna be ringing in your ears long after a song has ended. True to form, her latest offering, 'Wild', is no different. From the opening seconds of 'Wild', you can tell what sort of adventure this is going to be, and we are all in.

She's been a name in the industry for a minute now, but 'Wild' sees Godlands take her craft to daring new heights and creepy new depths. The song lives up to the name in every sense. It's animalistic, it's primal and you can feel the bass run through every extension of every limb. It feels dark and ominous, but strangely comforting.

The strongest part of 'Wild' is the effort Godlands has put in to create an atmosphere. We can hear this sonic world being constructed around us from start to finish, with its bare beginnings to his combustive conclusion. It's still straight to the point as always, but she keeps it exciting by truly taking us on an adventure. With pith helmets at the ready, it looks like you'll need to keep your hands in the air at all times.
