Live Review: Get shit done with Chymes and their guest mix

CHYMES are a Sydney based duo comprised of acoustic singer/songwriter Kiersten Nyman and electronic producer Cameron Taylor.

When their debut single 'Oracle' came out in 2016, we said that it used 'Contrasting dark themes and lyrics with light, sweet sounds, ‘Oracle’ is something of an oxymoron, challenging the typical view innocence.'

Fast forward two years, and the duo have a ton of tracks under their belt, an EP and a slew of gorgeous videos to compliment them. They've just released a video clip to accompany their new single ‘Wild’ and in apt Chymes fashion, it's the perfect accompaniment.

The clip offers a behind the scenes peek of the duo in the weeks of writing and recording the single. You’ll probably recognise some of the places featured in the video if you frequent Sydney. It's DIY at its best, something that I think Chymes are great at locking down.

In celebration of their new single and the clip to accompany, we got the Sydney duo to jump on the guest mix for our radio show last week on FBi Radio. They had this to say about their choice of tracks:

"Here are some special tracks we put on to get us in a relaxed but "lets get shit done" kinda mood.”

The mix pans from slow-burning cuts to heavy-hitting emotional bangers, something that Chymes are great at capturing within their own music.
