‘BIGBRIGHT’ is the newest single from Brisbane artist GOLDEN VESSEL and subsequently the title track of his newly-announced Australian Tour happening this November. The electronic producer and songwriter, who is commonly known to his friends as Max Byrne, has released the track following the success of its predecessor ‘Hesitate’ (featuring Emerson Leif), which currently has over four million plays on Spotify ALONE. Amazing.

Featuring Elkkle, E^ST and DUCKWRTH, on first listen, ‘BIGBRIGHT’ is an experience that rolls exactly the way you would expect from knowing the tune’s title. It’s a song about being swept away by the feeling of new love and the excitement and tentativeness that comes along with this experience. Elkkle, E^ST and DUCKWRTH each lend their own unique flavour to create some narrative flow to the track, the story being rounded off nicely by Byrne’s tight production technique. Musically, there are elements of trappy drums, wubbing basslines and dreamy synthscapes throughout the track, varying in intensity at different stages for emotional effect. It’s a well thought out piece of music featuring a great team of creatives whose diverse styles somehow click thanks to Golden Vessel’s artistic vision.

Speaking of vision, ‘BIGBRIGHT’ arrives not only to audiences aurally, but also with a fresh new music video to complement the track. According to Byrne, the video was shot over four days in Melbourne and was actually the first time that all of the artists had had a chance to meet each other. Apparently it was “so much fun” to make and watching it now, it seems that way for sure. It’s a bright cocktail featuring surrealist landscapes, glam vintage threads and even some animation (also, we think DUCKWRTH’s moves are cute AF). Definitely worth a watch to get the full feel of the track, which is exciting but also has that sense of trepidation and wigginess. Hopefully some of these visuals will make their way into Golden Vessel’s live show come the November tour!
