Live Review: Kormak brings the house down on his guest mix

19 February 2019 | 3:32 pm | Caitlin Medcalf

Sydney producer & DJ KORMAK has been one busy guy. Last year was a real tipping point for the tech house creative, seeing him go from local heavyweight to international competitor. He's released tracks on labels such as Lulu Records and Defected's DFTD imprint, as well as releasing a monster of a track 'Love On The Line' that's gained some pretty hefty support all around the world.

Pete Tong's given the track a spin on BBC Radio1, and artists like Claptone and Sam Divine have been playing it out to their respective crowds globally.

The tech house banger kicks off with a frenzied glitch dancing up and down in sharp jolts over a classic tech house percussive instrumental. The hook comes in and it's from here that the mood is set. The track moves up and down as each instrumental is added and omitted, the dark mood of this one really being set by that low end synth line that comes in every few bars.

With such a banger in his artillery, it's no wonder that the guest mix Kormak delivered for our radio show on FBi Radio was such a hard hitting 20 minutes. Take a listen below, and be sure to tune into Purple Sneakers on FBi Radio every Saturday from 5-6PM AEDT locally at 94.5FM, DAB+ or online at fbiradio.com.

Tracklist coming soon.
