Pitch Music & Arts Festival & Boiler Room announce collaborative broadcast
The big news just keeps on rolling for Pitch Music & Arts Festival, with the announcement of an official Boiler Room broadcast happening on the Friday of the four day music festival. With both brands responsible for pushing cutting-edge, forward-thinking acts in electronic music both locally and internationally, it’s exciting to see the partnership.
The broadcast will be live on the festival’s opening day between the times of 7.30PM and 12AM, and they’ve nabbed three stellar local acts as well as two international heavyweights for the stream.
Jumping on this broadcast will be UK duo Optimo, comprised of JD Twitch and JG Wilkes. With over 20 years of DJing experience each, as well as a deep rooted history with throwing parties, they’ve become globally renowned for their ecstatic sets that bring expertise and a complete disregard for genre convention (in the most unique and interesting way possible).
Germany’s Roman Flügel is arguably one of the most exciting names to come out of Germany’s electronic scene in recent times. Proving his style to be both versatile and malleable, he’s become renowned for effortlessly drifting through ambient, house, techno, electro, leftfield and more. With a lifetime’s worth of different aliases in his pocket, he’s back onto focusing on his solo work.
Sydney selector, producer and radio host Andy Garvey is potentially one of the most talked about names in the world right now. With her highly anticipated debut EP Eternal Recurrence set to drop on Lobster Theremin next month and the recent announcement of her signing to the FMLY Agency in the UK to manage her EU/UK bookings, she’s on the up. Her DJ sets see her fluctuate effortlessly between techno, electro and breakbeat, and there’s no doubt as to why the likes of Resident Advisor and more have been giving her DJ sets so much love.
Also set to jump on the stream is Melbourne tastemaker and creative Toni Yotzi. She kicked off her career hosting the Full Frequency radio segment on RTR FM, later finding her feet to become one of Australia’s most key selectors. She’s performed at the likes of Inner Varnika and internationally, has put together a few mixes for Red Light Radio, Beats In Space and heaps more.
And finally, Melbourne’s Merve. She’s been kicking it in the industry for a while now, developing skills as a booking agent and artist manager early on. Since getting behind the decks, she’s been known to put together infectious journeys for those listening with elements of house, funk, tribal and techno, and her expert taste has taken her to festivals such as Strawberry Fields, Golden Plains, Let Them Eat Cake and heaps more.
