Live Review: PREMIERE: Chase Zera's 'SAID I WOULD' is the pop/house crossover we need

15 August 2019 | 12:09 pm | Caitlin Medcalf

To celebrate the release of Chase Zera's new track, we’re giving away a double pass to see her perform at Hayden James' Wollongong show this Friday night.

It's no secret that we're kinda obsessed with Sydney's CHASE ZERA. Her debut 'Clovers' was the perfect intersection between pop and dance, showcasing her chops as a singer, songwriter and producer in equal parts. Next came 'Mess', one that allowed her to show her more sombre side and flex her muscles as a singer.

Today, she's coming at us with her third single, 'SAID I WOULD', and it's one that we're very excited to be premiering here at Purple Sneakers today.

She's yet again putting the focus on one of her skills, putting her ear for production at the fore and giving us what can only really be described as a driving house slapper. Her vocals at the track's start give us the chance to settle in, her deep vocal matching the mysterious energy of the instrumental.

As the pitch of her voice goes up, the intensity of the track builds until finally, we're left with sweet release. There's a touch of deep house in the verse too, giving us versatility and really keeping us on our toes.

Chase Zera is the queen of consistency, giving us three totally different styles of music, but ensuring that they all fall under the umbrella of her sound and musical identity.

Since launching the project, she's hasn't let a moment pass by, and this year alone, she's performed at CURVE BALLPurple Sneakers 13th Birthday, is touring with Bag Raiders and GRAACE and it set to play at Wine Machine AND NYE In The Park too.

She's also set to be supporting Hayden James in Wollongong this Saturday, August 17. To celebrate the release of her new track, we’re giving away a double pass to see her perform at the Wollongong show. All you've got to do is head to THIS Facebook post, tag a mate who you'd like to head along with and we'll choose a winner tomorrow morning to nab a double pass for the show.
