Hailing from Sydney, producer and vocalist, CLYPSO, has just delivered her dancefloor-ready single 'D.Y.S (Defend Your Situation)'. With the help of additional production from Konstantin Kersting (who has worked with artists such as The Jungle Giants and Mallrat), the new single acts as a bold statement for both the collective and the individual.

CLYPSO's trademark sound is a scrapbook of jungle beats, gritty basslines, sparkly synths and an afropunk take on electronic music, with 'D.Y.S (Defend Your Situation)' fitting the description perfectly.

Of the new single, CLYPSO explains that 'D.Y.S (Defend Your Situation)' is all about "coming together and standing up for a common or personal belief. I think we can all feel this palpable energy around, sociopolitical and cultural, and the song is a reflection of this bubbling energy."

The song embodies concepts surrounding how people's actions and mannerisms can in some way be a projection of their own issues. "You can't change it so screw it," she says. "Why give them a free ride on your energy when youy know all they want is to 'be somebody'. You know your real situation so, defend it."

'D.Y.S (Defend Your Situation)' holds a deeper underlying note of being more than a powerhouse indie-electro pop track. Its groundbreaking basslines and atari-synth breaks give the track a disco edge, representing what CLYPSO is all about.
