Live Review: Sega Bodega teases his upcoming album with ‘Salv Goes to Hollywood’

23 January 2020 | 1:14 pm | Lloyd Crackett

Ahead of the release of his debut album next month, Sega Bodega has shared a thrilling new single titled 'Salv Goes To Hollywood'.

This Valentine’s Day, don’t be lonely alone - plan to spend it with SEGA BODEGA’s debut album, Salvador, instead. Bodega announced his debut album for February 14th alongside the second single ‘Salv Goes To Hollywood'. The follow up to lead single ‘U Suck’ doubles down on the eerily sexy quality that many have come to love from the producer.

'Salv Goes To Hollywood’ focuses on a vocal loop that warps with every rotation. As it repeats, it takes on fresh meanings with new voices, cadences and effects. Oddly enough, these loops are your guide through Bodega’s carefully constructed storm. While this track is never messy, its array of crashing synths and rumbling bass will ravage you with only momentary reprieves of harp-like melody. It’s a snapshot into the mind of a producer who is as much a maximalist as a minimalist as he tries to express the complexities of loneliness and doubt. Sega’s latest single is wholly itself and delivers the top quality production he has become renown for.

Bodega’s debut album, Salvador, will delve into his experiences with romance, mental health and alcohol. While Bodega has released multiple EPs, this promises to be his most intimate work yet. Combining the intensity of his production with the vulnerability of his experience, it will likely strike, smash and hammer a chord with many.
