Beats of No Nation releases new compilation fundraising for Australian bushfire relief
Beats of No Nation has today shared a new 14-track compilation titled Dance for A Future Green. Released on Bandcamp, the label explained proceeds will be donated directly to a campaign set up by Yorta Yorta man and community rights advocate, Neil Morris of band DRMNGNOW to offer financial support for First Nations communities impacted by the crisis.
Aimed at offering “culturally sensitive, specific and direct support to communities with critical costs to cover—such as temporary relocation, basic amenities, property repairs and ongoing support where necessary,” the team at BONN wrote to fans, “we are passionate about contributing to a brighter future and are committed to taking action, especially when our politicians won’t.”
“You’ve probably heard by now that Australia is in the midst of an unprecedented climate disaster. Catastrophic bushfires are raging across much of Australia and have not only taken a huge human and economic toll but have also delivered heavy blows to native flora and fauna…In response to the tragic events that are taking place in our homeland, we asked some talented friends to contribute to a compilation to support those affected by the devastating bushfires across Australia.”
Including cuts from Jad & The, Sam Stosuur, Philip Budny, Luen & Patch, El Delpha and more, the compilation comes after the crew held a fundraising party in December alongside A Love Supreme which saw punters donate over $2500.
