Thelma Plum announces Homecoming Queen tour with Kira Puru

20 February 2020 | 8:23 am | Emma Jones

THELMA PLUM has had an enormous twelve months. From the release of her critically acclaimed debut album, Better in Blak, being nominated for the Australian Music Prize, receiving six ARIA nominations, APRA Song of the Year and three entries in triple J's Hottest 100, it's safe to say she's riding high at the moment. Now, she's set to do the same in 2020 and has announced she's hitting the road and bringing Better in Blak to audiences right around the country and is bringing along Kira Puru for the ride.

Announcing the Homecoming Queen tour, Thelma Plum is set to hit venues right around the country this May and June, before performing at Splendour in the Grass this July. Playing venues like The Forum in Melbourne, Sydney's Metro Theatre and the Fortitude Music Hall in Brisbane, as well as more regional centres like Toowoomba, Cairns, Bunbury and Newcastle, this tour is not one to miss.

Thelma said of the news, “The last year has been pretty crazy for me since people started to hear Better in Blak, both the song and the album, and it’s been amazing to have the stories which were inside my head resonate with so many people. It’s given me the opportunity to do some travelling and touring overseas, but it wouldn’t feel right if I didn’t celebrate where we are going, but more importantly where we have been, I cannot wait to return and take my little band family and the wonderful Kira Puru on the road for the “Homecoming Queen Tour”
