JOJI - Gimme Love

'Gimme Love' is the brand new single from Joji, and comes with the news that his new album, Nectar, is on the way as well. Out July 10 via 88rising, this is the second single we've heard from this record following on from 'Run' a few weeks back, and it's a glorious, unpredictable ride. Warning: this hook will be stuck in your head for days to come.

66RECORDS - Devil Persona (FT. BBG SMOKEY, LIL JAYE, ECO$YSTEM and BABYT)

66Records is a young Melbourne rap collective "born in the basement of a suburban housing project and known in Australia for their feverish live performances," and this week they made their official arrival with 'Devil Persona'. Featuring BBG Smokey, Lil Jaye, ECO$YSTEM and BABYT, this collective is worth keeping both eyes firmly planted on. 'Devil Persona' is incendiary, impressive from start to finish and just the start of a big year for the group. Don't sleep on these guys!

CLYPSO - Down To The Wire (Ft. Raave Tapes)

Indie dance queen CLYPSO follows on from her earlier single, 'Sidestep', with a brand new track this week. This time, she's tapped Newcastle duo RAAVE TAPES for guest vocals and added punk flair, taking CLYPSO's futuristic-yet-nostalgic eclectic style to new heights. It's a feel good, liberating tune that makes you want to run through the streets (while maintaining social distancing of course). Another slam dunk for CLYPSO!

DMA'S - The Glow

DMA'S have a new album slated for release on July 10th via I OH YOU, and this week the Sydney trio has treated us to the title track. Titled 'The Glow', it's another anthemic hit-waiting-to-happen from the band, complete with a euphoric chorus begging for a huge singalong whenever we're allowed to see them live, and that same insatiable yearning and emotional quality DMA'S so expertly inject into their music. If 'The Glow' is anything to go by, we're in for a real treat come July!

DASTE. - Telephone (What's Your Name?)

Brisbane trio daste. have released their second EP, Same As It Ever Was, today and with it comes new single, 'Telephone (What's Your Name?)'. It's a slow jam, with a smokey jazz-lounge feel and complete with soft, seductive vocals. Written about falling head over heels for someone who might not even know your name, it's a masterclass in creating tension and desire, and just like the situation that inspired it, the song leaves you desperate for more.

MIDDLE NAME DANCE BAND - Love Bite

Another Brisbane trio with stellar new music out today is Middle Name Dance Band. Comprised of Sampology, Pink Matter's Megan Christensen and Sam Maguire of Sam Stosuur fame, Middle Name Dance Band create music that just makes you feel good. It gets into your soul and warms you up from the inside out, and 'Love Bite' (taken from Middle Name Dance Tracks Vol. 2) is an intergalactic jam that will get you moving within seconds. Crisp claps, a horn section, intricate percussion and seductive bass lay the perfect bed for some heavenly keys to warm it right up. Throw in a robotic hook and soulful vocal harmonies and you've got yourself a downright banger. This one will be on repeat for a long time to come!

RINA SAWAYAMA - Bad Friend

Taken from Rina Sawayama's deeply personal SAWAYAMA album also out today, 'Bad Friend'. It's pop in its finest form, positioning Rina as the popstar of the future that we need right now. Unafraid to make music about real life, 'Bad Friend' was inspired by a trip gone wrong in Tokyo and a deteriorating relationship. It's a total dream, a masterclass in pop music and another stunning release from one of this year's most exciting artists.

JUNO MAMBA - Blossom (TSHA Remix)

One of our favourite singles of the year has now been treated to an almighty remix. Juno Mamba's 'Blossom' has been taken over and had an entirely new life breathed into it courtesy of UK DJ/producer TSHA. Taking queues from the likes of Bonobo, the track maintains some of its more foreboding elements but instead of the wall-of-sound intensity of the original, it's replaced with a lighter arrangement. Working with such an expansive, intricate track would be no easy task, but TSHA pulls it off without a hitch.

MARCUS WHALE - A Ghost

The ever-impressive Marcus Whale returned this week, announcing the follow up to his incredible 2016 record, Inland Sea. Titled Lucifer, the forthcoming record "reimagines the fallen angel banished from heaven as a queer icon and patron saint for the forsaken," and the first taste of this is one that will leave you reeling long after the song has finished. To simply call 'A Ghost' "intense" is selling it so short. Whale gives the song absolutely everything he's got, letting his stunning voice shine so bright above the heaving, unpredictable and industrial production that threatens to completely take over before being pulled right back at the last moment. It's a full-bodied listening experience, one that demands your attention and paints an ominous but seductive portrait of what might still be to come from Marcus.
