Live Review: Roy Blues' 'Brain Wax' is pensive music for the club

23 April 2020 | 3:56 pm | Evie Weily

ROY BLUES is set to launch a brand new EP via Gallery Recordings and whilst it is due later this year, he has released a taster titled Brain Wax.

ROY BLUES made his return earlier this month with his first single, 'Brain Wax'. Taken from his forthcoming EP out later this year on Gallery Recordings, 'Brain Wax' is as introspective as it is dance-floor ready.

The Melbourne producer has nurtured the creation of his forthcoming EP to work out the foundations that define the impact on his sound spectrum. Shifting between dark club sphere vibes and a euphoric groove, 'Brain Wax' is a glittery track that continues to prove Roy Blues is a serious force in the club music scene. Having already received support from the likes of DJ Boring, CC:Disco and Roland Tings in the past, Blues is wasting no time with 'Brain Wax' in proving he's set to continue his hot streak.

As a shimmering construction of music, 'Brain Wax' is built between two worlds, showcasing bell chimes and rich saintly percussions that plunges into a catchy dynamic instrumental. Furthermore, Roy Blues has also linked up with prolific Melbourne designer Bradley Pinkerton to develop a textural album artwork that highlights themes throughout the tracks. Pinkerton been globally applauded both globally and locally in the underground scene, having contributed to projects with Harry Styles and Kelsey Lu.

'Brain Wax' is a strong opening statement from the newly minted pairing of Roy Blues and Gallery Recordings and exciting snapshot into what might still be to come. Roy Blues is set to host a virtual single launch party this weekend to celebrate the release of 'Brain Wax' in style, and we're very thrilled to be involved! Catch it on Roy Blues' Facebook page, Gallery's Facebook page or our Facebook page from 7pm AEST on April 25th.
