Kevin Parker is the latest guest on Song Exploder, and he takes a deep dive into the Tame Impala song, 'It Might Be Time'.

Kevin Parker is the latest artist to feature as a guest on the Song Exploder podcast, and has taken a deep dive into his Tame Impala single, 'It Might Be Time'. Taken from The Slow Rush, which was released earlier this year, Parker outlines how the song came to be from the very first stages of creating what would become The Slow Rush all the way through to the song taking shape and becoming the crashing, liberating romp it is today.

From playing early versions of the song to going through stems of particular parts, Parker explained that 'It Might Be Time' was one of the very first songs he attempted to create after the release of Currents and the consequent high-profile collaborations he undertook with everyone from Lady Gaga to The Weeknd and Travis Scott.

Parker goes into detail about his creative process, and touches on particular parts of the song like the very loud and crashing effects he has on the drums in the track, the synth bass which he said might be one of his most favourite synth basses he's made ever, and the almost taunting-like sound of the way he sings in the hook.

Just recently, Tame Impala shared the live footage of the band performing 'Patience' during their Coachella headlining set in 2019, and a version of The Slow Rush recording in an "Imaginary Place" to give the illusion you're listening to it live. Tame Impala also features on the brand new single from The StreetsRead our review of The Slow Rush here.
