Take a trip to Paris with Eliott and her favourite Parisian places
Alternative pop rising star Eliott makes her return in 2020 with a brand new single, and takes us to some of her favourite places in Paris.
Alternative pop rising star Eliott made her return earlier this month with a brand new single. Titled 'Circles', it's a remarkable evolution from the Melbourne-based artist in how intimate and vulnerable the song is. Following on from a couple of singles in 2019, her debut EP in 2018 and collaborations with The Kite String Tangle and LUCIANBLOMKAMP, 'Circles' marks the start of a new chapter for Eliott and one that we can't wait to see unfold.
Speaking of her new single, Eliott said, “It navigates through a lot of my life. Dropping out of university, letting down my parents, always being on diets, and ultimately living in this cycle of making mistakes and hating who I am.”
“Those things have made me confident and strong though, and make me love who I am. I wouldn’t change a thing.”
To coincide with the new single, Eliott has also shared an accompanying video filmed in the streets of Paris. Explaining the personal meaning of the location of the video, Eliott said that the city of Paris is a very special one to her.

"I spent a lot of time in Paris on my own, reflecting, and learning things about myself. We filmed the video while in Paris, where I was able to reflect on Circles, and what it means to me, and how much I’ve overcome in the past two years since writing it. It’s vulnerable and raw, so I wanted the video to be that in its simplest form - so we shot one shot of me walking in a loop around the beautiful streets of Paris, ending up back where I started from.”
To coincide with the release of 'Circles', Eliott has shared five of her most loved places in Paris with us and some photos from her travels there she took herself.
I’d walk past this carousel every day on the way to the studio, sometimes sit, and just watch the world go by. There were people from all over the world here... smoking cigarettes, laughing with their friends, taking photographs. The weather was surprisingly beautiful the day I got there, the sun always shining and as I spent most days in the studio with Jack it was a beautiful break to just go outside and walk around the streets of La Marais – everywhere you look, the buildings all symmetrical and stunning.
To be honest, Paris was quite a lonely experience at times, and running became a way for me to almost meditate and get rid of some of the anxieties of travelling alone. I’d run along the Seine River every day, right up to the Eiffel tower and I felt so at peace, just exploring, and reflecting.
I was pretty much in the heart of Paris, staying at the Cite Des Arts Internationale in the 4th. I could literally see the Seine river and the Notre Dame Cathedral from my window. I remember arriving at around 10pm and just sat at that window, gobsmacked at where I was and feeling pretty lucky. I wrote a lot while I was in Paris, mostly on this piano in my room. I’d wake up, and look out my window and feel inspired. Some of the things I wrote in that room I feel are the best I’ve ever written.
The Louvre is one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever been. I walked around for hours with my jaw on the floor. My favourite part was the Napoleon Apartments; every inch of that room covered in detail and history, every brush stroke had meaning. I think I spent about 6 hours in there.
The food in Paris! I came across this creperie in Le Marais on my first day in Paris. Ended up eating here most days. Alone with the 574893 baguettes I ate while I was there!
