Bandcamp Buyer’s Guide: Nine must-cop releases

Bandcamp

Last month, Bandcamp made history when they announced they’d be waiving their usual revenue fees for a full 24 hours in an effort to help artists impacted by the pandemic of COVID-19 as much as possible. What followed was an unprecedented success with over $4.3million USD spent on the site in just a single day, the most ever spent on the website in a 24 hour period in its history. As a result, the online music retailer has recently announced they’ll be waiving their fees on the first Friday of the next three months, so May 1st, June 5th and July 3rd.

In a statement, Bandcamp said of this decision, “Musicians will continue to feel the effects of lost touring income for many months to come, so we’re also sharing some ideas below on how fans can support the artists they love and how artists can give fans new, creative ways to provide support. It may sound simple, but the best way to help artists is with your direct financial support, and we hope you’ll join us through the coming months as we work to support artists in this challenging time.”

It’s a great opportunity to cop some releases and merch from some of your favourite act. Obviously given how incredible Bandcamp is, there’s a lot to choose from if you want to help get behind the cause. Because of this, we’ve put our collective heads together once again, after last time around, to give you the scoop on some releases we think should definitely be added to your cart. Some have been released with the date in mind, but some have also just been released recently which we’re really loving. Check them out below, and if you can, please dig deep to help support our artists!
