Taken from his left of field 2018 'Loner On A Surfboard' EP, Melbourne based DJ/producer POKIES's track 'Once A Week' has been gifted two striking remixes from Australian underground talents Black Mannequin and DJ Borderforce.

Released via Berlin digital label Hot Concept, the two remixes are equally transformative and atmospheric in nature. The 'Loner On A Surfboard' EP lends itself as a progressive series of heavy influence, as Pokies draws from chopped up techno and UK funk to blend up what is an unpredictable experimentation in music.

The 'Once A Week (Southern Inferno Mix)' was released by DJ Borderforce just a little over two months ago, to which the original was handed a tough and wildly dancefloor-ready rework. The use of simple drums taps into a hypnotic landscape that reels listeners in with a climbing hard-and-fast attitude.

Released earlier this week, Black Mannequin's take on 'Once a Week' is a sublime follow-up to the first remix, delving deep into bass pressures and minimalistic tempos to produce what is a lush piece of music. The rework is gentle, naturalistic and impulsive, making it the perfect track to guide you from the late evening into the early hours of the morning.

Pokies has established himself as an evolving and intriguing artist within the Australian scene through his spacious mixing and organic minimalistic grooves. Both remixes are available for free download via Hot Concept's Soundcloud and you can check out the 'Loner On A Surfboard' EP on Pokies' Bandcamp.
