Off the back of their monster hit 'Purple Hat' which came in at number 14 on triple j's 2019 Hottest 100, SOFI TUKKER are back!

Off the back of their monster hit 'Purple Hat' which went platinum in Australia and came in at number 14 on triple j's 2019 Hottest 100, SOFI TUKKER are back today with another absolute banger. Teaming up with Gorgon City, the track is titled 'House Arrest' and is the accidental isolation anthem we need right now.

Exploring the notion of being trapped and venturing out in your mind, the song was actually written a while back when Sophie broke her foot. It began to take on a new life during "House Tuesdays", a collaborative session that would happen every week with the duo and their friends. "We originally didn't intend to make a song but we loved what we were doing so much that we recorded it. Eventually, we sent it to Gorgon City because we thought they were just what it needed to make it perfect," SOFI TUKKER explained.

What ensued from here was countless hours of tinkering and collaborating between the duos to take the song to where it is today. Equal parts sinister and captivating, 'House Arrest' is a seductive and enticing listen that shows the strength of both acts in the elaborate but still refined production, Sophie's hypnotic vocals and a bass line that will take you to new heights.

Unintentionally taking on a new meaning with the world in different stages of lockdown due to the global pandemic, the track now speaks to our respective stress and tension we're all feeling. A masterclass in collaboration, 'House Arrest' is a propulsive house track with more than meets the eye.
