Falls Festival organisers have confirmed they are moving ahead with plans for 2020/21 event later this year with "homegrown" line up.

FALLS FESTIVAL has confirmed it is indeed working towards still having its event later this year. In a press statement, organisers Jess Ducrou and Paul Piticco have said, "Today we are excited to let you know that we’re working towards Falls Festival Dec 2020 / Jan 2021 and that it will feature a limited edition, all Australian lineup."

"As Australia heads towards the recovery phase of COVID-19 we have decided to move forward with optimism, and work towards presenting our Dec 2020 / Jan 2021 event in a way that will best bolster Australia’s live music industry."

Elsewhere in the open letter, Falls advised that this "special “home grown” edition of Falls will ensure that money stays in our local economy, providing maximum financial benefit for the Australian music community – artists, management, crew, agents, roadies, production etc - as well as the thousands of contractors and suppliers who rely on our events for their income."

While it remains to be seen what the festival will look like as its still unclear how restrictions will be rolled back, the event remains optimistic that it will be able to go ahead even in a very different form.
