Teddie - Call Me (Ft. Craterface)

This might be the first time we've heard from Newcastle's Teddie in this particular sense, but she's actually been around for quite some time. One part of The Goon Sax and also touring with imbi playing saxophone, Teddie is the new alias from Teleah Riordan, and a project we are so excited about. Teaming up with fellow Novocastrians Craterface, 'Call Me' is a bouncy pop bop that channels the likes of Clairo or Grimes. As far as first impressions go, they don't get much better than this!

Bermuda Bay - All My Life

For fans of Toro Y Moi, BENEE or closer to home with the likes of Pink Matter, Bermuda Bay are our latest obsession. The five piece is from Adelaide, and they've got a handful of releases already under their belt dating back to 2017. Now with 'All My Life', we have a feeling they're going to be everywhere soon. We cannot get enough of those warm chords, decadent bass, crisp beats and the absolutely serene vocals. Come for the hook, stay for the searing guitar solo/ Here for it!

Pink Sweat$ - Not Again

Philadelphia's PINK SWEAT$ is an artist you need on your radar, and 'Not Again' is the perfect introduction. With an addictive bass, searing guitar licks, warm RnB production and swelling atmospherics, it's a soulful new bop that will have you reaching for that "Repeat" button. He's been on the scene since his 2018 EP, Volume 1and it looks like he might be gearing up for another record soon given this is his second release of the year. In any case, given he makes music this great and lives up to his alias by wearing pink threads, we have no choice but to stan.

friendships - Purebred Dogs (Ft. Yaw Faso & Thelovelyme) [friendships VIP Mix]

Taken from the forthcoming Bloom & Simmer compilation out June 26th via Remote Controlfriendships have given this VIP Mix of their 2016 song 'Purebred Dogs' an official release. A true highlight from their incredible album, Nullarbor 1988-1989, this VIP Mix sees the duo swap the heaving techno for a slowed down chopped & screwed take that shows even if they haven't officially released anything for a while, friendships remain at the very forefront of exceptional electronic music.

Nicole Millar - 4U

Nicole Millar is back with her second single of the year in '4U', a downtempo late-night affair dripping in sensuality. It's enticing, confident, and channels many of Millar's contemporaries like FKA twigsTinashe or BANKS. Still maintaining Millar's innate knack for pop perfection, it's another interesting switch up in terms of a new sonic palette, but a very welcome and exciting change we can't wait to hear more of.

Simona Castricum - The Good In You

Released today alongside her new album, Panic/Desire, 'The Good In You' is an elevated slice of synth-pop from Melbourne icon Simona Castricum. It's pulsing, liberating and expansive, with a driving beat and ethereal vocals from Castricum herself. Her whole record is a captivating, emotive and thought-provoking listening experience, and details Simona's experiences within the city she lives. It details a story of defiance, resistance and empathy, and provides a soundtrack to her experiences navigating her city as a gender non-confirming person. If you listen to one dance release this week, make it this.

The Nights - Woman

Sydney's The Nights return this week with a new single titled 'Woman'. As the title might suggest, it's a sort of sonic homage to women from the band. It's a propulsive, swelling dance track that slowly but surely builds to an emotional peak. In a statement, the band said of the single, "‘Woman’ accurately represents my emotional intention – influenced by a deep sense of love and respect for my wife and women in general, with a boding sense of sleep-deprived dreamy euphoria, joy and empowerment." Making clear steps forward with the band joining UNDR Ctrl and winning the RUFUS DU SOL x triple j Unearthed remix comp, it's all systems go for The Nights!

Bread Club - Forever (Ft. Phil Fresh)

Bread Club have teamed up with Phil Fresh for a nostalgic, tongue-in-cheek but totally catchy new jam titled 'Forever'. Accompanied by a stellar video that features the three Bread Club members and Phil Fresh on a dating show (with an AMAZING wardrobe), 'Forever' is the hip-hop infused slow jam we NEEDED this week. Cannot get enough!

FEKI - Golden Remedy Ft. Lanks & Sloan Peterson

Acclaimed Brisbane-based producer FEKI returns with a brand new single this week, signalling an exciting change of sonic direction. Titled 'Golden Remedy', he taps LANKS and Sloan Peterson for a euphoric, indie-dance leaning affair that channels the likes of The Naked & Famous with its massive hook, golden guitar licks and heavenly vocals. Even though we're a while away from summer, 'Golden Remedy' serves as a much needed bask in the warm sunshine we all need right now.
