Melbourne nightclub Love Machine has been fined $10,000 over the weekend after Victoria police raided an alleged event.

Melbourne nightclub LOVE MACHINE has been fined $10,000 after reportedly breaching Victoria's social distancing restrictions over the weekend.

On Saturday night, Victoria police's liquor licensing unit raided the club according to a report by The Age. In the report, it's alleged an event with 50 attendees was taking place and police were tipped off due to a livestream of the event being posted on the internet during the night. While we're always down for sharing snippets of fun on socials, it's probably better to not do that if you're engaging in something, y'know, illegal.

As a result, the club was slapped with a fine of $9913 fine for failing to comply with COVID-19 restrictions. A second fine of $991 for breaching its liquor license on the night was also issued. Given the state's restrictions are set to be wound back again on June 22 which will allow exactly 50 people back inside venues, we would strongly suggest holding on just a few more sleeps before heading back just yet!
