Live Review: PREMIERE: Low Beams sets out to impress with remix of IJALE's 'Break The Rules'

Fresh from the release of his latest single, 'Break The Rules' (which we were so excited to premiere) IJALE is back in a slightly different way this week. He's tapped newcomer Low Beams for a special remix of his single, switching it up from a woozy, late-night affair to a driving, upbeat bop which we are thrilled to be premiering today on Purple Sneakers.

While Low Beams might not be a name that you're familiar with, chances are you're familiar with his music given his impressive history. Real name Daniel Finn first cut his teeth as one half of Polographia, and is not stepping into his own with this new project.

Hints of that classic Polographia sound are evident in this remix as Low Beams injects some pounding disco and funk influences. Bringing those sounds Finn made a name for himself creating firmly into 2020, this remix proves he's more than capable of crafting bops and jams on his own. It's bouncy, bright and so much fun to listen to as Low Beams maintains that late night feel of IJALE's original work, but amps up the glittering electronic sounds to make a driving, bassy, and blissful new take.

Low Beams said of the remix, "Since first witnessing IJALE's live shows, I have a lot of respect for his talent to both produce and rap at an elite level. After hearing his newly released music, I noticed he had taken his sound to another level, rich with sound and brimming with next level production chops. I was so honoured to be able to remix 'Break The Rules' so I decided to flip it with a bouncy beat and bass, using some beautiful backing vocals from the original track, which I brought to the front with the main chord progression."
