Live Review: Sofi Tukker announce "Australian music only" DJ set this weekend

Celebrating their latest single, 'House Arrest' ft Gorgon City, hitting the #1 played spot on triple j this week, SOFI TUKKER have announced a special DJ set to give the love back to Australia this weekend. Doubling as their 113th daily live set in a row, the duo will be dedicating their entire performance to Australian based acts for the DJ set on Saturday 4 July at 12:00 Noon.

Spurred on as a way to remain connected with fans during the pandemic, SOFI TUKKER have been streaming daily sets from their Miami home. In a statement announcing the set, Sofi Tukker said, “We love Australia so much and can’t wait to come back!! Since we’re stuck staying away from you for now, we want to celebrate House Arrest being #1 on Triple J by playing an exclusively Australian live DJ set this Friday!! Can’t wait for thisss.”

'House Arrest' is the duo's first single for this year, following on from the mammoth success of their 2019 single, 'Purple Hat', and of course globally acclaimed hits like ‘Drinkee’ and ‘Swing’. An immediate fan favourite, 'House Arrest' became an unintentional anthem for these isolated times after first taking shape when Sophie broke her foot and had to be off her feet for two months. One global pandemic later and the song took on a new meaning, so its no surprise it has struck a chord with fans across the world.

SOFI TUKKER perform their Australian-focused DJ set live on their Facebook, Instagram and Twitch channels on Saturday 4 July at 12:00 Noon AEST.
