Melbourne-via-South East Queensland SEVADER aren't letting a little pandemic get in the way of them making some serious moves lately. The duo might've moved just before their new home entered stage four lockdown, but they still managed to get enough hype going for them in the months preceding it to get on a lot of people's radars. Now, this week, we're seeing the results of that with a whole stack of good news from the pair including a new single, and a couple of very exciting deals.

Alongside releasing their brand new single, 'Persian Rose' today on none other than pioneering label Sweat It Out's imprint Club SweatSEVADER have also inked a deal with UNDR CTRL, meaning we can expect to see a whole lot more of the house duo whenever we're allowed back onto dance floors. And, after just one listen to 'Persian Rose', we can't wait for that moment. Working with fellow Melbournian Zapéd, together they craft a shimmering slice of minimal but feel-good deep-tech to get your weekend off to a cracking start.

SEVADER said of their single, “'Persian Rose’ came about during a jam session we had the summer just gone. Inspired by the change of seasons, coastal living, and our increasing fondness for day events, we set out to make something with a dash of funk and plenty of warm, feel-good energy. Once we formed the foundation of the track, we reached out to our good friend Zapéd to create some soulful vocals to play off the sun-soaked riff.”

Having already released cuts on the likes of RÜFÜS DU SOL's label Rose Avenue, Beats Of No Nation and Reptile Dysfunction as well as making lush remixes for the likes of Cassian, Thandi Phoenix and POOLCLVBSEVADER are on a mission to make their mark on the Australian dance scene, and with singles like 'Persian Rose' under their belt, they're already half way there.

Given all the good news out of the SEVADER camp recently, what better time than now to officially get to know the duo and find out a bit more about them? Check out our chat with the guys below, and dive into 'Persian Rose' here:

Who are you?

Hey guys, we are Sean McDermott and Josh Glenny. Together we produce house music, DJ and are known to drink the odd tequila under the alias ‘SEVADER’. We both grew up north of Brisbane on the Sunshine Coast but recently made the move down to Melbourne.

How did SEVADER come to be?

We have known each other since kindergarten and over the years we developed the same interests in travel and music. The SEVADER project came together after a trip to Europe 4 years ago attending some of the worlds' top festivals and clubs, we came home inspired by our shared experiences which lead to buying our first DAW (Logic Pro X).. after 3 months of banging our heads against the wall not understanding the software we switched to Ableton and have never looked back!

What are we talking, vibes-wise?

Jazzy influences are definitely becoming a more dominant theme through our newer projects, with a touch of 90s deep house, while still utilising the African/Latin groove we’ve come to love from percussion.

Tell us more about your new single, ‘Persian Rose’?

The instrumental of Persian Rose came together during a jam session last Summer, we had recently purchased a vintage keyboard that we were experimenting with. After we made sense of the jam and the beat was wrapped up, we reached out to our good friend Zapéd to lay his vocal magic on top! We met Jordan (Zapéd) through playing Arcadia last year and he's also based in Melbourne which is handy.

What can we expect from you in the months ahead?

Our first release of 2020 is on one of our favourite labels Club Sweat, we have been working to deliver them a unique track and we're really happy with the result. Next, we have an EP out on Melbourne based label Circa Trax as well as a heap of new music we’ve been finishing during iso that we hope will also debut towards the end of this year - just in time for the Summer rotation.

Where can we hear more from you?

You can find us on all streaming platforms, Spotify + Apple Music, we’re regularly updating our playlists which include tracks from our seasonal Select mix series. We also have a few free downloads available on our Soundcloud.

We also have a new guest mix for elsewheres' Sound Series which you can find on their Soundcloud.

Persian Rose is out now via Club Sweat. Buy/stream here.
