Live Review: PREMIERE: DVNA delivers one of her best singles yet with introspective bop 'All My Friends'

Ever since we heard her first single, 'Girl On The Move' (which we premiered back in 2018), we have been absolutely hooked on Gold Coast artist DVNA. We've kept an eye on her since then as she's steadily released new music, steadily refining and honing her craft along the way. Now, almost two years on from her first release, we thrilled to once again premiere a DVNA single in 'All My Friends' — one of her best yet.

Still tapping into that vibrant mix of electronica and neo-soul, 'All My Friends' is an introspective new jam in which DVNA reflects on mental health issues she's seen her friends overcome in recent times. The self-produced single is a certified bop, showcasing DVNA's silky smooth vocals above a bouncing beat, soulful synths and warm, swirling atmospherics. It's the same DVNA we first fell in love with back in 2018, but all grown up. Wiser, more ambitious and still with so much more to give, 'All My Friends' signifies a deeper shift in DVNA's music.

Alongside the release of this latest single, DVNA has also announced her long-awaited debut EP of the same name is on the way and due out September 25th. She'll be heading out on a small tour throughout Queensland to celebrate the release this October, giving fans the chance to catch it live in action. DVNA said of her new single, "Personally, I was able to relate on so many levels, having experienced these feelings for myself, although expressing it the only way I knew how. Through song. I sat down with my guitar and wrote it in about 30 minutes. From there I began production. I wanted contrast between the two as we seem to mask our true feelings in order to appear ’put together’...Seeking validation externally will never work and you’ll find pure bliss when you surrender to the fact that you are exactly where you’re meant to be."

'All My Friends' is yet another promising addition to the already impressive catalogue under DVNA's belt, and serves as an exciting sneak peek for her forthcoming EP. Listen below:
