Returning with their second single of 2020, following from the sly and fierce ‘Manbitch’, Melbourne and Sydney trio Haiku Hands continue to dominate Australian electronica with the witty ‘Fashion Model Art’.

It’s a song that’s been in the works since at least 2018 when I had the pleasure of catching this tongue-in-cheek banger live at Listen Out - and now featuring American electropop sensation Sofi Tukker, it’s well worth the wait!

‘Fashion Model Art’ begins with vivacious synths that recall Madonna’s ‘Vogue’, and lyrics that make fun of pretentious party conversations. Between this energetic nightclub pulse and satirical spoken word; it’s the most danceable anti-party anthem this side of Confidence Man.

Speaking about the new single, Haiku Hands shared, “This song celebrates the fashion model art character within ourselves. We revel in the hilarious, tense, fun, ridiculous and utmost seriousness of these moments. Sofi Tukker jumped on this song after we toured with them for a month in the US. We ask ourselves, what should we do with our hands?”

With the release of ‘Fashion Model Art’ also comes the announcement of Haiku Hands’ self-titled debut record, out September 10th via Spinning Top Records. For Haiku Hands, the party is far from over!
