Live Review: Cassian taps Durante for enthralling new 'Open Up' remix

Grammy-nominated DJ, producer, and mixing engineer Cassian has released a magnetic remix of his single 'Open Up' reworked by electronic artist Durante. Since meeting Cassian while opening for him at Sound Nightclub in Los Angeles, the two have forged a friendship producing and releasing mesmeric collaborative tracks with this remix setting new standards for them both.

Both textured and ethereal with its hypnotic electronic sounds, this new release encapsulates the listener as it brings spacious outer-worldly synths, a deep pulsating bass, and distorted vocals to the forefront. Incorporating dark and brooding elements, it's easy to get carried away with its electric energy, with the effortlessly mix of percussive beats and harmonic elements making for club-ready tune. With Durante's touch of genius, this track is transformed into an atmospheric and emotive remix that amplifies all the original elements of Cassian's original.

Talking about his introduction to Cassian and the creation of this remix, Durante said, "Cass and I have always had a similar taste in music. I remember downloading tracks of his to DJ when I first moved to LA 6 years ago. I first got to meet him when I opened for him at Sound Nightclub a few years ago, and last year we got to do a co-headlining show there together."

"It really came full circle when he asked me to do a remix of one of the songs on his album. Cassian always sets the bar extremely high with his production, and the stems were top notch. Once I had the drums the rest of the remix pretty much wrote itself."

With this remix out now via RÜFÜS DU SOL’s Rose Avenue label and the two continuing to fortify their friendship, there's no doubt these two exceptional electronic artists will be collaborating on more enthralling music in the future.
