Kaytranada has released a new instrumental version of his 2019 album BUBBA that showcases the Canadian DJ's knack for creating smooth addictive beats more than ever before. The new release strips back all of the album's original vocals, allowing us to focus on the rich sounds that are layered beautifully in each track.

This new version of BUBBA is dripping in hip hop and dance energy with deep pulsating beats, groovy synths, and smooth transitions. Sounding like an extended DJ set, this 40-minute album exudes that quintessential Kaytranada, laid back summer funk. Vocals from Kali Uchis, Estelle, Tinashe, Mick Jenkins, Pharrell, and more were removed to focus on Kaytranada's pure talent when creating a tapestry of beautiful sounds. It also allows us to hear the his mixing skills as each song melds into the other with atmospheric electronic sounds. With this new release, we're set for long summer nights ahead.

The original BUBBA album is on the Short List for the 2020 Polaris Music Prize which Kaytranada's debut album 99.9% won in 2016. Upon its release, BUBBA also landed at #1 on the Billboard Electronic Albums chart and #3 on the Billboard R&B Albums chart. Earlier this year Kaytra also shared his new song 'Look Easy' where he collaborated with New Orleans singer Lucky Daye.

In December 2019 Kaytranda spoke with Zane Lowe on Beats 1 about the follow up to his BUBBA album. “There’s just so many tracks that just didn’t make it [into BUBBA]. I intended to put it out in two parts,” he said. “I’m definitely going to do something kind of different on the next one.”

“Because it’s like, there was a lot of rappers: I have this song with Anderson .Paak that didn’t make the album, it’s really a good one. It’s just like, it has this sample I have to clear, and it just sucks, man. Sampling is my sound, like my main sound.”

This instrumental version of BUBBA by Kaytranada is a heaven-sent hip hop, funk infused album that sends vibrations from your spine right down to your fingertips. It displays an impressive portfolio of sounds and shapes with the beats and synths being most notable in each track. It is a fantastic showcase of sounds that are oozing in dance energy, making you want to groove along to each track.
