SOPHIYA - Overdue

Melbourne rapper SOPHIYA has unleashed her debut EP this week, and title track 'Overdue' is once again a perfect display of how formidable she is on the mic. 'Overdue' sees SOPHIYA hold nothing back, going harder than ever with producer Pax showing her lyrical prowess, her rapid fire bars and love of infectious hooks. SOPHIYA did not come to play on this one!

Sig Nu Gris - Amoeba

Coming through with her first release after a year in the studio with an absolute heater, Sig Nu Gris is wasting no time re-introducing herself with a frenetic slice of tech-rave to get your heart racing. Titled 'Amoeba', the producer once again pushes sonic boundaries and emerges triumphant with a club-ready belter just waiting to be unleashed on a packed dancefloor.

Christopher Port - Slid

Sonic mastermind Christopher Port makes his long awaited return this week with a full new EP titled Ritual Music. The entire EP is a must-listen, but stand out track 'Slid' makes for a real highlight with its fusion of Port's background in jazz and as a drummer with his deep love of club and electronic sounds to make something so naturally free-flowing yet still meticulously crafted, you can't help but get lost in it.

Jazz NOBODI - Tall Poppy

One third of rising trio Planet VegetaJazz NOBODI makes a formidable first impression this week with 'Tall Poppy'. Featuring a tenacious flow, Jazz NOBODI wastes no time getting right down to business, asserting himself as one to watch over a booming beat. Putting everyone else on notice in the process, 'Tall Poppy' is about as impressive as first impressions come.

GENES - Super Single

Rising future pop star GENES has delivered another undeniable BOP this week with 'Super Single'. Coming alongside some exceptional visuals courtesy of triple j Unearthed and NIDA (which GENES recently won a competition for), 'Super Single' is pop excellence. The hook is just so perfectly crafted, GENES' vocals are exceptional, and the entire track is so fun to listen to, it'll have you shaking off your COVID blues and looking forward to summer in no time.

The Jensens - Paper Walls

Brisbane band The Jensens serve up a new evolution in their sound with their new single 'Paper Walls'. Having become mainstays in their local scene, the band set their sights beyond the River City with this single, fusing their formative influences like The Strokes with forward-thinking pop-oriented songwriting to create an uplifting, soaring indie rock/pop moment arriving just in time for the warmer months ahead. Released alongside some exceptional visuals made in collaboration with visual artist Unclechronicbone, 'Paper Walls' marks the start of an exciting new chapter ahead for The Jensens.

Elle Musa - Geminis

After releasing two euphoric remixes courtesy of Goodchild and Dro Carey for her recent single, 'Mango Pops', Elle Musa returns with a double A-side this week in 'Geminis/ Merman'. The former sees the Sunshine Coast artist explore the many different feelings of love, and the powerful energy that comes with such emotion, and while it's a deeply personal cut born from her own memories, Musa has opened it up to allow space for any listener to explore the song in their own way. It's another easy, breezy, warm and nostalgic cut from Musa, and we can't get enough.

Pacific Heights - The Weight of It (Ft Steve Spacek)

New Zealand producer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Devin Abrams has donned the moniker Pacific Heights, and this week shares a very special single titled 'The Weight Of It'. Featuring none other than Steve Spacek, 'The Weight Of It' is a particularly pertinent listen given the bizarre year we've all experienced, providing catharsis and clarity in the confusion of it all with its richly atmospheric production and glorious vocals.

Ninajirachi & Kota Banks - Opus

Purple Sneakers favourites Ninajirachi and Kota Banks have teamed up for another collaborative single out this week titled 'Opus'. Following on from one of our favourite songs of the year in 'True North', the pair once again bounce off each other in perfect harmony as Kota channels her more intimidating vocal range over Ninajirachi's chaotic-yet-controlled futuristic production. They really snapped on this one, going all the way off in an empowering anthem we are absolutely here for!

Rvhu - No Rush

Brisbane's Rvhu follows up his June-released 'Gravity' with a funk-filled new single titled 'No Rush'. It's a vibrant, uplifting and groove-laden jam all about the first time Rvhu met his girl, distilling that electric chemistry and thrill of connection and exploring the love of finding their flow together. Showcasing his excellent vocal chops once again, 'No Rush' is the infectious groove we need right now.
